We have had a number of instances where Label templates that include formatted text will simply not print the formatted text at all. When the the label (which we use as a letter) is printed the text in the formatted text object does not appear at all. But it looks normal in the designer itself…

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a known fix for it?

Hi Regan,

There could be several reasons:

  • the object has an appearance condition that fails

  • the layer that the object is assigned to has an appearance condition
    that fails

  • the text contains an expression or variable that is not parseable

  • an element of the text formula has a NULL value

Is it reproducable? Look at the LOG - can you see anything unusual?

There is no appearance condition in some of our templates and it still does not show.

We don’t use layers… Or more correctly, we use the default layer.

  • the text contains an expression or variable that is not parseable

It is reproducable and I haven’t looked at the LOG yet.
