When compiling/installing the List & Label VCL component the following error can occur:
[dcc32 Fatal Error] ListLabel21.dpk(36): E2202 Required package 'bdertl' not found
This already affects the List & Label installation, where the setup tries to install the VCL package automatically in the background. Due to this problem the List & Label VCL package is not available from the start.
Cause:
Since RAD Studio XE7 the BDE (Borland Database Engine) is not provided in the RAD Studio installation anymore. Therefore the List & Label VCL package can not be compiled and installed anymore, as List & Label also supports BDE data sources and the package requires the BDE.
Solution:
Embarcadero provides a separate installer for the BDE for each RAD Studio version that is available to registered users. After the successful manual installation of the BDE the List & Label VCL component can be installed manually. Please refer to chapter ‘Installation hints’ in the online help for the necessary steps to manually install the List & Label VCL package.
