Previews in Web Report designer not shown in the selected font

Hello

I have created an LL Project and added a text. I have embeded a font “Barlow Semi Condensed ExtraBold” in the Embedded font list of the project and I assigned this font to the selected text. When I click on the Preview button in Web Report designer, the preview is shown in the “Barlow Semi Condensed ExtraBold” only if my machine have the font installed. If I understand correctly, the idea of embedded fonts is that it should work even if the fonts are not installed locally. Can you please let me know if any further settings are to be done so that the designer displays the previews in the selected font?

Hello

Can someone please check the scenario here?

If you’re referring to the ability to preview your report directly within the Designer (and not just viewing the static SVG layout in the workspace, which typically functions without issue), unfortunately this feature is currently unavailable.

The reason behind this is that the generated XHTML, which just includes just the font’s facename, is viewed directly on the client machine, and at present, we don’t provide the fonts via CSS or any similar method to the client. Therefore, you’ll get a mapped font (whatever the browser deems suitable) when previewing.

However, there’s good news if you’re looking to see your report with embedded fonts: you can export the report to a PDF. This process should preserve all the intended fonts and formatting, allowing you to view it exactly as you designed. Also, make sure to use the latest service pack as there was one fixed issue (fixed in 30.002) related to font embedding in the Web Report Designer.

Both the “Previewing within Designer” and “Preview in the Workspace(SVG layout)“ are not using the embedded font. Hope you will implement them in future release.

The SVG preview should actually work. We’ll investigate and follow up here.
