Override printer settings

Is there a way to override the orientation settings when I print a report
(either preview or to the printer)?
I have a report that I am previewing/printing, but it can be either a
portrait or a landscape report. It seems to be based on the default print
driver setting. The setting is changed in the report, but it seems to not
override the default setting.

Thanks,

Tim

This is strange - it should work, the LL preview changes the printer’s
paper orientation automatically corresponding to the report layout.

I am having a similar problem when previewing using Remote Desktop and using “Local” printer, i.e. the printer on the client computer, not the server.
The Print Preview is showing Portrait even though the template is set to Landscape.
Interestingly, if I connect without a local printer resource, the Print Preview shows landscape.
The other interesting thing is that when I actually print to the local printer, it prints in Landscape. It appears to only be the Print Preview that is having the problem.

Tim, did you resolve your issue? If so, what was the resolution?

Hi Nick,

in that case a debug log file with printer debugging should deliver more detailed information about the behavior. Please open a new support case here and attach a log file. You can create it as follows:

  1. Exit your application.
  2. Start the debugging tool “Debwin4.exe” from the List & Label installation directory (folder “Miscellaneous”).
  3. In Debwin4, select “Capture List & Label Log”.
  4. Now start your application.
  5. Please repeat the steps until the error occurs again.
  6. Save the log file in Debwin4 via “Save Log”.
  7. Then upload the log file in the case.
