Optimize/Rewrite Excel Export

I suggest to optimize/rewrite the excel export:

As in a support case presented the performance of an excel export is not ideal.
It just takes too long if a certain number of rows/columns should/must be exported (The memory consumption then also increases to several GB).

Since some customers did not accept the duration, various exports unfortunately had to be migrated away from List&Label.

Maybe you could add a special export mode that doesn’t have all the features available but is still much faster.

In any case, the performance should be worked on urgently in order not to ‘lose’ more exports.

The ‘problem’ is getting bigger and bigger and the need for a solution is increasing.

Nothing worth sharing unfortunately. I hear you loud and clear. Will keep this thread updated.

As already discussed in our mail exchange, we’ll tackle this for LL29. Anyone encountering performance problems with data ony export in version 28, make sure to set XLS.AutoFit to “0” as the AutoFit option is actually very expensive.
