Improve report generation

We have a report that can take up to 2 minutes to generate.
II have read over the documentation for improving performance but there is nothing on there that would help. The report contains 2 images and no dashed lines.

The report is one of our most complex designs that contains ordering, grouping and calculated column widths in the data tables.

Could the report be broken? I have deleted everything from it and it still takes just over a minute to load a blank file

After some more investigation, we discovered that most of the time came from out code building the data model for report generation.
