Basic help - multipage printing issues / additional blank pages

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction:
I have a multipage report (2 page shipping document) that is:

  1. Printing only one report, when I select 3 copies from the windows dialogue.
  2. It is printing 2 additional blank pages (4 in total)

L&L is reading variables from a third party application, and has been in use for many years, but multipage configuration is my first attempt on a customer configuration.

I am using “Appearance Condition” with 1 User Variable “@PagesX = 2” for some fields

My settings checks have included:

  1. correct page size (A4).
  2. fields shrunk to the minimum to avoid over hang on page width.
  3. Test prints in both L&L and the third party application
  4. Ensured object order and single page break is in the right position

My User variable forces a page 2 [with formula “Page(1)”], but all other variables come from the third party application

I think you"d need to get in touch with the vendor of the third party app. There are too many unknowns (integration, data source, version etc.) to provide help here, I fear.

Thanks - we are the third party software provider. All we do it provide a list of variables to the application without much else if I’m honest. We use the designer to create project format for vial, container and shipping documents for pharmaceuticals. The software is provided to manufacturers of the drugs and this query has come from them.

I’d suggest to get in touch with the support team, then. Best would be to have a sample that reproduces the issue. Alternatively, we could start with a debug log file. Make sure to include details on your programming language and implementation details (using .NET component, DLL interface,…). We’ll sure be able to sort this out then.
